Sustainable Food Systems & Circular Bioeconomy Policy Workshop

October 17 @ 9:45 am - 5:00 pm

This workshop brings together diverse policymakers and public service policy implementers whose work intersects with developing sustainable food systems and a circular bio-based economy in Ireland. The workshop will elaborate the results of ongoing research projects concerning food systems and circular bioeconomy policy and public services, and aims to better understand:

  • how different areas of public policy and public service can shape, and are shaped by, developments in Irish food systems and bio-based sectors;
  • what is required within and by public services in order to foster sustainable food systems and bioeconomy development;
  • how research can support policymakers and those working in public services to achieve those objectives.

The workshop will be facilitated by the Science Foundation Ireland-funded Food Resource Efficiency Decision support (FRED) project, Environmental Protection Agency-funded EnableBio project, and Horizon Europe-funded EU4Advice project.
