This event will bring together high-level speakers and leading technical experts across governments, academia, civil society, and the private sector to discuss the link between a sustainable bioeconomy driven by innovations and agrifood systems transformation. The event will lay the ground for a shared vision, unified principles and a collaborative approach, alignment with multilateral commitments and a global bioeconomy partnership.
The event will be moderated by bioeconomy luminary Professor Joachim von Braun and feature inspiring high-level speeches by the FAO Director-General QU Dongyu; Pippa Hackett, Minister of State with special responsibility for biodiversity and land use at the Government of Ireland’s Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine; Carina Pimenta, National Secretary of Bioeconomy at the Government of Brazil’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change; and Christine Lang, Co-Chair of the International Advisory Council of Global Bioeconomy.
The event will also include a lively panel discussion with international bioeconomy experts giving different regional and sectoral perspectives: Julius Ecuru, Isabella García Caffaro, Ross Hampton GAICD, Warinthorn Songkasiri, Greg Jaffe and Ruiyan Wang.
FAO Deputy Director-General Maria Helena Semedo will provide closing remarks.
